You may have recently heard the buzz about how Facebook is floundering within the 18 and younger crowd but according to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center it remains the King of the Jungle for those 18 and older. In fact it has seen nearly a four percent increase in users 18 and older over last year growing from 67% of all adults in the US to 71%. These numbers are staggering when you consider that Facebook’s account base is now greater than 1.3 billion users worldwide!  What is even more impressive is that Facebook users have the highest frequency of use out of all social media sites with 48% of its users logging onto the site a daily basis and nearly 1 million links shared every 20 minutes on the site.
While Facebook remains by far the most frequently used social media site in the market today it is also important to note that according to the same Pew Research Study that out of all of the Facebook users out there more than 20% of its users spend time across other networking sites such as Twitter, Linkedin, Pintrest and Instagram. So while it is important that your social media marketing strategy predominantly focuses its efforts on the social media giant – that you also spend some time marketing your products and services across multiple social media sites to maximize your exposure.
